Holiday Closure

In observance of Thanksgiving, both the County Library  and the New Market Area Library will close at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, November 26 and will remain closed on Thursday, November 27 and Friday, November 28. Regular hours will resume on Saturday, November 29. For the schedules of our other locations, please contact these libraries directly.

 
New Market Festivities

'Tis the season at the New Market Area Library! On Saturday, December 6, the library will take part in the Town of New Market's "'Tis the Season" festivities. From 9:30 am-1:00 pm, the library will host a book sale. Following the town parade at 5:00 pm, the library will also host Santa Claus! Each child attending will receive a small gift, so please join us.

 
Santa at the County Library

Join us at the County Library on Tuesday, December 9 and Wednesday, December 10 at 10:30 am for very special storytimes. Santa Claus himself will stop by, and share stories, songs and crafts with us. Don't miss out!

Shenandoah Room Hours

Devoted to local history resources, the Shenandoah Room at the County Library is open during regular business hours.  Please note:  Material held in the Archives Room can be made available only from Monday-Friday.  The Shenandoah Room operates primarily as a self-service facility, with assistance available according to the following schedule:

Computer Club

The Shenandoah Valley Computer Club meets at the County Library on Tuesday, December 2 at 1:00 pm. Adult Services Librarian David Robinson will discuss the library's free digital resources, and he will have on hand a variety of portable devices for you to explore. Refreshments will be served.

 
Make-It & Take-It Workshop

On Saturday, December 6 at 10:30 am, the County Library will hold a "Make-It & Take-It Workshop." Make a gift to share, and create crafts to decorate the library's Activity Room. We hope to see you there!

 

 

 
Wordless Books

Join us at the County Library on Tuesday, December 9 at 6:30 pm for a special storytime event. Miss Diane--along with Miss Susan and Miss Dana and several Shenandoah County teachers--will explore the great stories of wordless books. There will be music, snacks and crafts, so please stop by!
