The Shenandoah Room and Truban Archives identifies, preserves, catalogs, and provides access to primary and secondary sources related to the culture, history, life, and heritage of Shenandoah County. To meet those objectives we hold a large collection of local and family history books, newspapers, government records, research files, photographs, and historical documents.
Located at the County Library, the Shenandoah Room is open during regular business hours. An Archivist and volunteers are available to assist researchers and provide access to the Truban Archives Monday thru Friday from 10:00AM-5:30PM, and on the 4th Saturday of each month from 10:00AM-12:00PM.
Please note: Materials held in the Truban Archives are available only when a volunteer or the Archivist is on duty.
